As a kid, I was always drawing on everything! I couldn’t help myself! 😀 And then, I left my 8-pack of Crayola Crayons outside and the sun melted them! 🙁 HOWEVER, my love for art stuck and the rest is history. Nowadays I draw and paint mostly on the right surfaces, and keep my crayons cool.
My first real job was as a Fashion Illustrator in NYC for a big retail company. It was an exciting time and place to be. I had a lengthy career in apparel design, development and manufacturing.
But, I always wanted to try my hand at “real painting”. You know, the stuff you see at the MET Museum. Intimidated but brave enough to get out of my comfort zone, I did pursue study with some of today’s living masters. What an incredible blessing they have been!!! Still are!!!! Still, intimidating.
While I put the paint on the canvas, I hear all my teachers’ voices in my head -striving to observe and attempting to capture what I see. Creating art to enjoy the journey and the process is my mission.
